TeamUfa is getting a new website!

TeamUfa is getting a new website!  We hope this new site will continue to serve our purpose of mobilizing people for missions.  It is currently under construction at www.connectufa.org .  We are very excited for this blessing of being able to have a completely new site.  We want our new site to have new resources and links that will help you pray for God’s work in Ufa, Russia.  So, just like a building, its not finished yet, but its OK to take a walk through!  Of course, we will let you know when its completed too.  We thought about keeping it a secret until we had a final product for you, but we just couldn’t help ourselves!

The Church: Part 2

Christendom: In a historical or geopolitical sense the term usually refers collectively to Christian majority countries or countries in which Christianity dominates or was a territorial phenomenon in the recent or ancient past.  A more secular meaning can denote that the term Christendom refers to Christians considered as a group, the "Political Christian World", as an informal cultural hegemony that Christianity has traditionally enjoyed in the West (i.e, Western Europe and North America).
However, the formerly vigorous sounds of Christendom and Christendom-type churches in the West are becoming increasingly more like echoes.  There is a rising chorus of believers in the West crying out for a simpler way of being and doing ‘church’.  Many are loudly calling for a reappraisal of the word ‘church’ itself.  In theological terms, this means there is a growing dialogue regarding the need for a major paradigm shift in ecclesiology (the study and practice of ‘church’).
Read the chart and think through the implications.  Read Matthew 9:16-17.  We do not want to do away with existing local churches.  We believe it is possible to reorient and reform existing churches.  But we also need new wineskins into which to pour new wine.  Our team is excited about what God is doing in Ufa to start new simple, organic churches.  Let this chart stimulate, challenge, and become a new wineskin for you.
